Craigslist listing photos: fill the details, then add pictures

2 min read

Craigslist asks for listing details before it shows the image upload page. That means sending the text and sending the photos are two separate steps.

PicToPC supports both parts. Keep the library tab open as you move through the form, so the selected item is ready when you reach the photos.

Get the item ready in your library

Take the photos in the PicToPC Android app, save and sync them, then open the same account on your computer. Check that the group contains just one item.

Add the title, description and SKU you want to use. Write a clear condition note if there is wear or damage. The latest Chrome extension includes Craigslist support.

Fill the description and details first

  1. Select the item in PicToPC and choose Send to marketplace.
  2. Check which text fields you want to include.
  3. Open your Craigslist posting details page.
  4. Click Fill PicToPC details.
  5. Review the title and description, then complete Craigslist’s other required fields.

When you include the SKU, PicToPC adds it at the bottom of the description as “SKU: your-code”. This is public text. Use a stock code you are happy for buyers to see. The stock location is kept out of that SKU text.

Choose the category, condition, location and contact options yourself. If you use the supported GBP price field, check the whole-pound value in the draft before continuing.

Move to the image page

Press Continue after checking the details. Craigslist may ask you to confirm a map location before it shows the image uploader. On posting types that support images, this is where you add the actual pictures.

Use the floating Insert PicToPC photos button on the image page. You should not need to return to the description page to send photos.

Check the photo order and space

PicToPC supports up to 24 photos for Craigslist, including any already in the draft. Send photos only; this flow does not add a video.

Wait for the thumbnails to finish loading. Put the strongest whole-item picture first, then other angles and close-ups. Check that a photo of a fault is clear enough to help the buyer.

If the selection has expired

Your PicToPC selection lasts for 15 minutes. If you spend longer writing the listing, return to your library and select the photos again. Then return to the Craigslist image page.

After checking the pictures, use Craigslist’s done with images button and review the posting. PicToPC does not publish it for you.
