How to get Android product photos onto your PC

3 min read

Taking product photos on your phone is easy. Finding the right photos on your computer can take longer. If you sell several items, a camera roll full of similar pictures soon becomes hard to sort.

Choose a way that suits the job. A USB cable works for a one-off copy. PicToPC is built for taking item photos on Android and finding them in a browser on your computer.

Send your first item with PicToPC

  1. Create a PicToPC account and get the Android app.
  2. Sign in with the same account on your phone and computer.
  3. Take photos of one item in the app. Check them, then tap Save and sync.
  4. Open your photo library on the website and wait for that item’s photos to appear.
  5. Give the item a clear title and SKU so you can find it again.

Start with a real item you want to sell. You do not need to set up the Chrome extension before seeing your first photo in the library. Once it arrives, you can download it or follow the steps to use it in a listing.

Keep items separate from the start

Photograph one product at a time. Keep all its angles, labels and faults in the same item group. Then move to the next product.

For example, name a lamp group “Blue desk lamp” and use a SKU such as LAMP-021. Put that same code on the item or its storage bag. This is more useful than a folder called “Photos Tuesday”.

When a cable is enough

For a small one-off job, connect your Android phone to your computer with a cable that supports files. Unlock the phone and choose its file transfer option if asked. Copy the images into a folder for that item.

You will need to sort and name those files yourself. Avoid mixing shots of different products in one folder, especially if someone else will write the listings.

If a photo has not arrived

Larger photos and slow connections can take longer. Keep a copy of anything you need long term: PicToPC stores photos for the time included in your plan.

  • Check the email address shown in both PicToPC accounts.
  • Check that the phone has an internet connection.
  • Make sure you saved the photo instead of leaving it on the review screen.
  • Allow an upload in progress to finish before closing the app.
  • Check the library’s search box is not hiding the new item.

Use the photos in your next listing

Once the photos are in your library, you can add item details and choose Send to marketplace. The Chrome extension then helps put selected photos into a supported listing draft.

Always check the photos and item details before you publish. If you work with a VA, give them their own library access on a plan that includes staff access.
